Climate KIC partners closely with a select group of committed impact investment funds via our Investing for 1.5C initiative. Almanac Ventures and UnaTerra are founding partners in the initiative and work with us daily to advance climate action. We maintain an open call for new investment partners to join Investing for 1.5C at any time.
Climate KIC leads the initiative and provides the partners with deal flow, strategy support, climate impact services, and growth support to portfolio companies. At the same time, Almanac Ventures and UnaTerra each bring a unique focus on a different aspect of the climate innovation journey by looking at a particular sector, geography, or stage of development.
By working collaboratively with a shared vision for impact, the initiative aims to unlock new possibilities for the exchange of knowledge, insights, and lessons on how to enable profoundly transformative innovations in business and economic models.
Our founding partners

Una Terra’s ambition is to not only invest capital, but also provide direct support and capabilities, education and leadership to companies that want to transform entire industries with commercial technology and innovation, with asset-light models that can be scaled through marketing, commercial introductions, partnerships, new market entry and accelerated go to market.
Open call for investment partners
Climate KIC has a rolling open call for investment partners. Interested investors are encouraged to register their interest with us via our investor registration form.
We offer three levels of investor partnership:
- 1.5 Pipeline partner – a free platform available to investors seeking to co-invest in our pipeline of innovative start-ups.
- Community Member – the Climate KIC community is a network of members interested in deep decarbonisation through systems innovation.
- Investing for 1.5C partner – a full scale and long-term partnership between Climate KIC and investment fund managers interested in strategic decarbonisation opportunities.
Seeking investment
Start-ups seeking investment are invited to submit their pitch deck to the Climate KIC Investment team for review. Climate KIC prioritises investor readiness support toward companies that have completed a ClimAccelerator programme and agree to join our Simple Agreement for Future Equity (SAFE) programme.
